Meanwhile in Italy you are eating porcini mushrooms, truffles, chestnuts, and delicious pumpkins…. you are pampered in the warm colours of Autumn, dancing with yellow, red and orange leaves; start to light the fireplaces and enjoy the wine.
Here in Melbourne I am enjoying the arrival of spring, the rebirth of nature, the explosion of flowers in a thousand colours, the smell of grass, the warm air!
With the arrival of the Spring I return to walk in the open air with my family… in the gardens there are a lot of flowers…. but I am always struck by lilac and fragrant bushes… they are romantic bushes… they are romantic bushes…. they are lavender bushes!
It is an ancient plant, already the Romans used it to perfume their baths!
After putting the lavender flowers to dry for more then a week, I could not resist… so I prepared these biscuits of shortbread with lavender! Perfect biscuits to share with special people and a cup of tea!
