200 gr oat flour
50 gr plain flour
90 gr icing sugar
90 gr salted butter
1 grated orange
1 eggs
Crema pasticcera
3 yolk egg
3 spoons plain flour
3 spoons sugar
3 glasses milk
1/2 grated orange
2 slices orange peel

Cake with oat pastry and orange


I love eating a slice of this cake after lunch with a glass of moscato.

Making Pastry

Pour oats in a food blender and mix until became a flour .
To make the pastry place the butter and egg in a food processor and process until combined. Add grated orange, icing sugar and oat flour process until combined. The dough is no really dry like a normal pastry , so take the dough out of the bowl, pour into wood bench and add plain flour. Gently press it together with your hands and shape into a ball. This pastry does not need rest. Pour dough in a grease and flour 24 cm round cake tin. Gently press the dough from the center to the edge until all the dough is spread out.


Crema pasticciera

Preheat the oven to 180. Divide the white egg from the yolk. Pour yolk egg in a little sauce pan, add sugar and beat with a whisk until the sugar is well melted. If you want , you can add grated orange. Slowly add flour and continue to beat until combined. Add milk and orange peel, mix well. Put on low heat and bring to boil, without stopping to mix. Remove from the heat when the cream has reached the density you prefer. Leave to cool. Pour the cream over the pastry. Put on some almond flakes and some orange peel curls. Bake for 45 min. Leave to cool. Sprinkle with icing sugar. Serve with melted dark chocolate.

Helloo, I love your post. I recently published an Blog Post on preserving food. I love to make my own food for New Year!. I will be making a nice ice cream to go with it. The children will be off school and I am sure they are going to love it.
