Rose del deserto Biscuits

Crunchy outside, soft inside!

The Roses of the desert, this is their name because their shape resemble the rocks of the desert smoothed by the wind. They are simple and quick to do even with kids.

I made these biscuits with raisins but you can use chocolate, pine nuts or almond, what more you want!

In Italy they are inevitable for birthday parties… kids love them and parents even more!

They are perfect for breakfast with milk and coffee, or for Merenda with a cup of tea.

Preheat the oven to 180 degree.
Whip the eggs and sugar in a bowl with an electric whisk.
Add soft butter and whisk well. Add half flour and mix again. Add raisins, previously soaked in a little water for about an hour, and mix with a spoon. Mix well and add the other flour while continuing to mix with the spoon.
When the mixture is homogeneous, pour corn flakes into a tray.
With a spoon take a small amount of your sticky mixture and dip it into the corn flakes.
Make a ball and place it in a tray with baking paper.
When you finish, bake your biscuits for 20 minutes to 180*.
Let them cool down and sprinkle with icing sugar.
Breakfast or Merenda is ready!
